Well today was fun, crazy, but fun. We went with our friends Ian and April and their three awesome kids to Swiss Days in Midway, Utah. Midway is a Swiss themed town in Utah near Park City, it's got Swiss styled resorts like Zermatt and Valais, it's a really beautiful place. So every year the town hosts a weekend called 'Swiss Days' which is a mass of craft and arts stalls that sell everything from quilts to cowboy hats, toys to Christmas goods, and lots of food, tons of food. It's actually a pretty good day, we have only been once before but it was fun so we went back. It was just as fun this time. Although I had to laugh, the food stalls were just killing me. In order to fit in to the Swiss Days theme, there seemed to be a recurring method; and it was really simple, ridiculous but simple.
Just add the word Swiss to everything.
So we saw:
Swiss Fruit Smoothies - didn't get one, I was laughing too hard
Swiss Burgers - burger with Swiss cheese on it
Swiss Hot Dogs - seemed to be the same as the hot dogs I see in
Swiss Krauts - so many jokes that flowed on that one
Swiss Pizza - looked remarkably like your average pizza
Swiss Chicken - just normal chicken in a bun
Swiss Ice Cones - very Swiss, it was an ice cone with all these flavours you could add, just like the ones you see at every supermarket in America
Swiss Fruit baskets - which consisted of Granny Smith apples, Florida oranges and some grapes
My personal favourite - Swiss Tacos, seriously, they had a huge line of hungry Utahans waiting for a genuine Swiss Taco. In all the time that I lived in Switzerland I never ever saw a Swiss Taco. In Switzerland I ate a lot of Raclette, a lot of Fondue, which funnily enough you can't get at Swiss Days in Midway.
All in all it's a fun day, but we drank Diet Coke, Luke got a cowboy hat and at the very end we did something very Swiss - we bought a clock, yeah you guessed it - it was made in China.
Ahhhh Swiss Days - Made in America.

Priceless! I love how they manage to make a celebration about another country all about America.
Swiss Taco's was just too much.
huh, the clock was made in Idaho!
Actually the clock was assembled in Idaho, the clock itself (the mechanism) was made in China.
